Join Me: It's Complicated (Native, Nativar, Native-ish)

Join me for another evening gathering at the Lavish Gardens Shoppe. The evening is called "It's Complicated: Native Plants, Nativars and Native-ish" and will consist in an informal circle talk, not a class. We'll use specific plants in front of us - prairie clover, mountain mint, whorled milkweed among them - as the starting point for a real conversation about where the native plant line actually sits, and why it's worth asking in the first place.

Questions we'll be asking are:

• How does a plant's historical native range impact its ecological impact in local ecosystems? 
• What are nativars and are they beneficial for local wildlife?
• What observations have you made on insects visiting native plants, nativars or near-natives in your own gardens?

Tickets are $50, and every ticket comes with a $50 voucher redeemable on plants, shrubs or trees - so the evening essentially pays for itself.
