Beneficial Nematodes for Orchards

Price

C$32.99

Guardian for Orchards is a biological control solution targeting soil-dwelling stages of common orchard pests, including coddling moth, plum curculio, western cherry fruit fly, apple maggot, peachtree borer, and pecan weevil. These pests spend part of their life cycle as larvae in the soil, where they are most vulnerable to nematodes.

Timing of application is critical for effective control. Most pests require spring and fall applications when larvae enter the soil, except for pecan weevil, which requires one fall application. Visual indicators of pest activity include:

  • Fruit drop with entry holes – codling moth, western cherry fruit fly, apple maggot
  • Crescent-shaped scars – plum curculio
  • Gummy exudate with frass at tree base – peachtree borer
  • Fallen nuts with exit holes – pecan weevil

Using Guardian for Orchards in conjunction with trap and lure systems ensures the best possible results by targeting pests across multiple locations and life stages.

Guardian for Orchards is mixed with water and applied to the tree's dripline with a hose-end sprayer (sold separately - see options).

Application rate: 10 million nematodes will cover approx. 4 trees
